B.I.K.E.S.  Ride & Event Schedule

April Rides

Monday afternoons, April 3 &10:  Sammamish River / Burke Gilman Trails.  Start time 3:00 PM.  Social pace, A terrain, 10 to 35 miles.  Precipitation cancels.  (Its a good idea to bring a drink, snack, extra inner tube, long gloves, and rain resistant top.)  On April 3 start in Bothell at Sammamish River Park on the southwest corner of 102nd Avenue NE (overpass) & Sammamish River.  Go south over the 102nd overpass and turn at the first right.  On April 10 start at Matthew's Beach Park parking lot.  (From Sand Point Way NE go east on NE 93rd Street.)  Ride leader Bill Lutterloh 360-668-9554.

Monday afternoons, April 17 & 24:  Centennial Trail Rides.  On the 17th start at Machias Station.  On the 24th start at the south (Snohomish) end of trail at the northeast corner of Maple and Pine.  Start time 3:00 PM.  Social pace, A terrain, 10 to 35 miles.  Precipitation cancels.  (Its a good idea to bring a drink, snack, extra inner tube, long gloves, and rain resistant top.)  Ride leader Bill Lutterloh 360-668-9554.  


Tuesday & Thursday, The Bergeron Loop. 10am Every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 92nd Street Park in Mukilteo. Ride to Snohomish and North Everett, a 35 mile ride; terrain A pace social. Who wants to participate should call me at 425 349-5065 so I can wait for them.

Thursday Evening: April 13 Thursday Ride: meet at Supee's Thai Kitchen (2725 Colby Ave.) for a pre-dinner ride. What dinner? The pre-BIKES club meeting dinner, around 5:30. Our ride will be social pace, around Everett, 10+ miles. Dan & Elaine Scott 425-355-4510

Meet at Rotary Park, on the Lowell River Road. 5:30 p.m., 18 miles, moderate pace, call if in doubt about the weather. Dinner after. Dan & Elaine Scott 425-355-4510

Friday Mornings: April 21 and 28.  TGIF Ride – Here is the way to start your spring weekends, The ride will start from the Machias Station at 6:30 a.m.  It will be a moderate-paced training ride (see ride chart) on the Centennial Trail for 20 miles without any scheduled stops.  Rain, heavy fog or heavy frost will cancel.  For more information, rutledge3m@earthlink.net or 425-789-1175.

Saturday, April 8 Not a Tulip Ride – Will do March Point, Anacortes, (Lunch Stop) the Swinomish Reservation  on this social, a/b terrain 35/40 miles that will start at 9:30 at the parking lot near the north end of the Bay View shoreline nature trail on 2nd a block off Bay View Edison Rd. (3 miles north of Hwy 20) Contact Warren Bare (425)743-7593  warrenbare@verizon.net.

Saturday, April 15 Saturday: ACHIEVE.  Check the Ride Changes page about a week before for ride location and start time.  This will be approximately 35 miles at a steady high-social pace on A/B terrain.  Adverse weather may cancel.  Ride leader Debby Grant, 425 778-5530 or debby@jaygrant.com.

Saturday,April 22 - I'll be listing a "do your own" ride
to the BIKES Club Sharing Wheels work party in Everett. I'll encourage people to list their rides to Everett on the updates page to form some "bike pools." 

Saturday, April 22. McCullom Park to Cathcart to Woodinville to Lake Forest Park and back to the start.  9:30 start time. Miles 40+, A/B Terrain, Social/Moderate pace. Lunch at 3rd Place Books. Heavy rain cancels.  Contact Tim Wise 425-754-7916 or tcjkwise@verizon.net

Sunday, April 23rd - Marysville Miles Soup Ride – 30 to 45 mile ride starting midday from Alan Creek Elementary; social to moderate pace over A/B terrain to suit riders.  Bring a sandwich and drink and join me for hot soup at my house, only 4 blocks away, at end of ride. Planning to start late-morning (10:30 to noon) call Mike Snodgrass at (360) 653-2384 for actual time.  Rain or ice cancels.

Sunday, April 23:  EXPLORE*.  Daffodil Classic.  Social pace, A terrain, 20 (- 40) miles.  Meet at McCollum Park & Ride on 128th Street SE (about 4 blocks east of I-5) for ride sharing / convoying at 8:30 AM or at Orting City Park Registration (fee $20). at 10:00 AM.  Precipitation cancels.  (It’s a good idea to bring a drink, snack, extra inner tube, long gloves, rain resistant top, money for food stop, and maybe a camera.)  Ride leader Bill Lutterloh 360-668-9554.  *Explore rides are ones not previously checked out by ride leader but information is available and group can explore ride together.  See www.twbc.org.

Saturday, April 29 Saturday: ACHIEVE.  Tour de Lopez – hosted by the Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce.  Pre-register for $20 or $25 day of ride.  It will also cost to ride the ferry and park in Anacortes.  This will be a 31 mile moderately hilly ride.  None of the hills are long and extended.  Visit http://www.lopezisland.com/tour.html for details and registration.  Please RSVP before April 15th.  Carpooling will be arranged.  Ride leader Debby Grant, 425 778-5530 or debby@jaygrant.com.


Sat-Sun. April 29 & 30 - Port Townsend Club Weekender
- ferry to Whidbey Island from Mukilteo, ride the hilly 30 miles to Keystone and ferry to Port Townsend. Explore the town, shop, relax, eat, motel overnight, return on Sunday. We planned to ride this unsupported, but if someone wants to drive or share driving/luggage hauling, or ? Weather dependent. Please call before April 27. Dan & Elaine Scott 425-355-4510

May 21-22, Yakima Wine Tasting Ride
.  The Bikes club annual wine tasting ride in the Yakima Valley will be May 20 and 21 this year. Please mark the weekend on your calendars. The ride is usually about 35-40 miles with stops at 5-7 wineries with sag support on Saturday and 35 miles Sunday on a non winery ride. We usually get together for dinners and there are options to camp or motel it depending on your comfort. Ride leader is Jack McClincy 360-435-5978 for info as we get closer.
