Summer of the Century

New B.I.K.E.S. Club member soliciting interest in training for late summer century riding this season. Riders should be committed to brisk paced strenuous group training rides with limited stops. The distances and terrain difficulty will increase gradually while leading up to 6-7 hour endurance levels needed for brisk paced 100 mile tasks with limited stops. Your commitment should also include motivated individual training to fill-in the gaps between participating in group training rides.

In order to maintain the necessary exertion level to complete this type of activity, developing an endurance fueling regimen that works for your individual physiology should be a key component to your commitment package. Without endurance fueling, the odds for
success diminish dramatically. There are volumes of resources on the subject of endurance fueling. The method that has proven itself for me can be investigated at:
http://www.e-caps.com/downloads/fuelinghandbook.pdf.       (http://www.e-caps.com)

The beauty of endurance fueling is that many facets of the techniques apply to all exertion levels and task durations.

If you are interested in this type of training and riding, please contact me at eric@troili.com.   Eric Troili  425.355.4458

Looking to ride your bike, but the rides that are listed are too slow or too fast or
know of a special bike route you would like to share?

Maybe you would like to lead a ride,
but are not sure about what is involved.

An experienced BIKES Club ride leader will ride with you on your ride and show you what is needed to lead a successful bike ride.  We are currently looking for members that want to lead a leisurely paced ride.  That’s right.  There are plenty of nice riding days this fall and winter.  It’s a great way to meet other people and talk over lunch.  Days and weekends are available! And it’s free!

Contact me tcjkwise@verizon.net to pair you up with a ride leader.
