25 Years of Freewheeling
By Warren Bare

Patsy King started Freewheeling Wednesdays in the summer of 1982 and ran it for 10-plus years.

Then Gracie Towers took it over and led it into 2001until she  was unable to continue, then John Everett listed the ride until he moved to Louisiana and he would not commute to continue to lead the ride.

Because the participants choose the next week’s ride on the current outing, the contact person does not even need to ride.

Please let the Ride Coordinator early what date you want to lead a ride. The Coordinator has the job of trying to fill our weekend, and weekday, rides without too much overlap. All ride descriptions must be submitted before the 18th of the month.

Ride leaders are encouraged to support each other’s rides by checking in with the Coordinator on dates to avoid double listings, especially rides at similar paces and distances.

Do you have a favorite ride you would like to lead?  Post it on the website.  It’s easy.  Email me if you have any  questions. editor@bikesclub.org

There are usually several ad hoc rides listed on the website under Ride Changes.  Be sure to look there for any last minute changes or additions.  http://www.bikesclub.org/html/ride_changes.htm

BICYCLE HELMETS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL BIKE RIDES.
