Meeting Minutes

BIKES Club of Snohomish County meeting minutes Sept 13, 2007

Meeting called to order 7:10.

We started with introductions for the 7 people, Tim W, Pier F, Bill W, Mary A, Warren B, Mike D, and Kathy Riddle, a new member.

Bill read the treasurer’s report.  Discussed about where we gave money away to different organizations the past year.  A more detailed list will be in next month’s newsletter.

Talked about old business, which was short since this is the first meeting since summer break.

Bill mentioned that a Gym Exercise Business that is located in Mill Creek and Lake Stevens has asked if the club can donate a bike rack for both locations.  Bill will find the address of the businesses so we can contact the proper authorities for rules and regulations.

The club will purchase tickets to the BAW Auction to be held Oct 27.  There was a raffle for 2 tickets which was won by Bill and Mary.

The club will donate a pair of free McClinchy Mile Ride tickets to the BAW auction.

The Frequent Rider Miles Coordinator has requested that the ride leaders send in the ride miles within 2 weeks of the ride so they can be accurately entered into the spreadsheet.

Tim W asked the club for a $125 donation so the Lynnwood Kiwanis Club can purchase a bicycle from Harvey’s Bicycle Shop to be raffled off at the Bicycle Rodeo that they are hosting Sept 22.  This request was approved and you will see the picture in an upcoming newsletter.

Tim W asked all members that the Kiwanis Club is asking for club members to assist with bike safety inspections at the rodeo.

There was a short discussion about whether a person signing the ride release form was a non-member or a member.  This is for the purpose of noting a non-member status in the frequent rider miles listing.  The form will be revised and noted on the website.

(because I have nothing to write about.  If you do, how about volunteering to be the editor?  Its easy and I can show you how.)
