From the
President
Ride miles are fun. Last year
some guidelines were created to attempt to keep them that way.
Here is a review of those guidelines:
Not every mile you ride is a
“Frequent Rider Mile.” To count for our club tracking, the ride
must involve other club members in one or more of the following
ways:
· Ride is listed in the monthly
newsletter and led by a club member
· Ride listed on the website on
the “Ride Changes” page (preferably no later than 5 p.m. the day
prior) and at least two club members from different households
participate
· Other club¹s event rides when
listed in the club newsletter ³Ride Calendar,² preferably in
time for early registration and carpool arrangements (If you
don't see the ride leader, send them an e-mail or self report
your miles).
Remember that our ride mileage
guy (Pier) volunteers a lot of time. If you find a problem with
your club ride miles, make sure you also thank him for
everything he does.
You can use the ride miles for
tracking your riding and fitness goals. Take the fall or winter
riding clothes back out of the closet and join in on some really
great rides. Try for a hundred mile month or a 50 mile weekend.
Don't forget to occasionally test yourself with a more
challenging ride.
B.I.K.E.S. Club Jerseys
I have begun working on the
club jerseys the prices will be $60 each or less if we have over
50 orders. we should have design samples at the club picnic this

Club Picnic
Hi all,
Jack and Janell have once again generously offered to host the
annual club picnic. It is tentatively set for June 21. It has
been suggested that it be moved a little later in the day. They
have also once again extended the invitation for people to come
and camp out Saturday night and make a night of it.
As a result of some feed back last year they thought it would be
better to start a little later and make it more of a dinner
event rather that a lunch time deal. Past years the picnic
started around noon.. We will aim for 3:00 or even 4:00. This
would give plenty of time for those who want to do a ride during
the day and then come over for dinner later.
Watch the website for updates.
