Pedal Pushers Ride Bay View to Anacortes

  • 20 Aug 2015
  • 10:15 AM
  • Gravel county parking lot on 2nd Street on the north side about one block east of Bay View-Edison Rd

This fun route is all on pavement except a beautiful 2 mile (twice) dirt/gravel dike trail which is very nice even for road bike tires.  Social pace (10-12 mph), A terrain (flat) with one high bridge, RT about 27 miles.  We will probably see blue herons on the Padilla Bay dike trail.  We will ride on a bike/walking bridge over Fidalgo Bay and travel the great Anacortes waterfront trail.  We will stop to buy lunch at about the half way point in Anacortes or you can bring a lunch.  This is about 80% trail, 20% road and we're joining Judy Thiel's group.  Ride leader Bill Lutterloh, 360.668.9554, LutterlohB@GMail.com, cell phone day of ride 425.870.6418.  Rain cancels.

From I-5 north bound turn west at Burlington onto Hwy 20.  In 5+ miles turn north (right) where a sign indicates Bay View State Park (and Farm House Restaurant is on the left).  Follow the main road until you see 2nd street.

To van pool, car pool, or convoy meet at McCollum Park, Park & Ride by 9am (on the south side of 128th street SE about 5 blocks east of I-5 just north of Lynnwood).  (Look for full size light brown window van with Bike License Plate.)
