Fir Island Flats - Social Pace

Friday, January 14th, 10:00 a.m. @ Conway Ball Fields (near the Muse behind the Fire Station)

Meet at 10:00 (for a 10:15 rollout).  20 mile easy going scenic loop around Fir Island.  If you haven't been on your bike for a few weeks, this is an easy way to get back in the saddle.  Completely flat, except for a short grade going over the bridge to Fir Island.  Social pace - 10 to 12 mph, frequent stops, regroup as needed.

We'll stop near the Skagit Bay Estuary to watch for snow geese or swans in the area and stop for a snack/picnic lunch at the Skagit Wildlife Area picnic shelter.

Not sure of the status of the portalets at the start, there may not be any this time of year, plan accordingly!  There is a pit toilet at the Wildlife area about mile 17.

Unexpected winter weather will cancel this ride.

Bring snacks/light lunch and warm clothing!  Expected temps at start about 44 degrees.
