Ride ~44 miles at a steady pace from Nick Loutsis park in Carnation to Rattlesnake Lake and back on the Snoqualmie Valley trail.

The Snoqualmie Valley Trail is compacted gravel suitable for most bikes with a 32mm or wider tire.  There is paved section ~2 miles from the Tokul tunnel to the Reinig foot bridge.  I enjoy the scenery, especially since I can enjoy it on the trail without having to think about cars, so this is an out and back.

Steady pace effort equivalent to 12-14 mph on the road, ~44 miles, A & B terrain with ~1,600 feet of elevation gain.  For those that have not ridden the trail before, it's the old railroad route so the grade is a consistent 1-2%.  The only "B" section is the short paved hill from Borst Lake (the old Weyerhauser mill pond) to the Tokul tunnel to get back on the trail.  Depending on interest we can take a short detour to Snoqualmie Falls.

Bring a two water bottles and plan for lunch at the picnic tables at Rattlesnake Lake.

Bathrooms:

There is a Honey Bucket at Nick Loutsis park.  A better option may be to use the flush toilet at Depot Park in Duvall on the way to the start.

The flush toilets at Torguson Park in North bend (about mile 15) have been open the last few times.

There are pit toilets at Rattlesnake Lake.  This time of year the flush toilets at the visitor center are usually closed, but I've gotten lucky and found them open before.

Ride Leader: Paul Heydron, 425-344-1543, paulh.wa@comcast.net
