Cherry blossoms and tamales?  Still seems like an odd combination, but it also seems to work.  Weather permitting, the steady ride on Tuesday, March 26th will feature both.

The plan is for a casual ride that will leave Echo Lake Park at 10:00AM and head through Kenmore then down the Burke Gilman trail to the UW to see the cherry blossoms.  The route back will include a detour to Frelard Tamales and a stop at Green Lake to enjoy them.

The route is ~24 miles at a steady (12 - 14 mph) pace with about 1,000 ft of elevation gain on A/B terrain.  Bring the usual: water, snacks, flat repair tools, etc.

Frelard Tamales does not have a dining room. It's a walk up hole in the wall where you order at the door.  They do have tamale options that include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free.  We'll plan to head to Green Lake to find a table (or a baseball dugout?) for a less-than-formal dining experience.  Be prepared to walk or ride a few blocks with tamales in a takeout container.

RWGPS route will be close to this: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38928999

Steady rain or other excessively unpleasant weather will cancel.

E-bike riders please be aware of the club's E-bike policy
