Anacortes & Guemes Island Mod Ride @ 9 AM

Ride leader: Rick Proctor 425-293-3153. BikeHound@comcast.net

Register by 8 PM evening before the ride.  Group size limited to 8.

Moderate pace (14 – 16 mph), 45 miles, A/B/C terrain with ~2,500 feet of elevation gain.  Frequent regroups and rest stops expected along the way.

Meet at 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM roll out at the March Point Park & Ride, 8147 S March Point Rd, east of Anacortes.  This is a bigger than normal day ride bike adventure with friends.  Porta-potty usually nearby.

We'll ride on paved trails and roads with a couple short sections of hard-pack gravel.  We will also ride the Tommy Thompson Trail bridge over Fidalgo Bay both ways.  On the way to Anacortes, we will ride around March's Point.  From Anacortes we'll take the Skagit County Ferry to Guemes Island, ride around the island like bicycle tourists and stop at the Guemes Island General Store (mile 28) for lunch, then take the ferry back to Anacortes and continue through Washington Park on the west side of Anacortes, then return to the March Point Park & Ride.

Note: ferry wait times may be longer than advertised.
