Fir Island Social Ride
Monday, July 7th, 10:30 a.m.
Meet near the Conway ballfields (near the corner of Main and Greenfield) a little before 10:30 for intro/safety meeting.
A little over 20 miles of quiet, flat rural roadways. The only small climb is the bridge going over to the Island. While these are mostly quiet farm roads, you will be on roadways with little to no shoulder with occasional traffic. You should feel comfortable riding in those circumstances.
We will keep a social pace - 10 to 11 mph on flat roads, regroups as needed. Bring plenty of water and some snacks to keep you going. Restroom at the start is always iffy, sometimes there is a portapottie, sometimes not. We will make a restroom stop about mile 15 at the Skagit Wildlife area.
