FIR ISLAND - Social Pace
Tuesday, October 20th - 10:30 a.m.
Meet at the Conway Ball fields near the corner of Main Street and Greenfield at 10:15 for a 10:30 rollout.
This is a 21 mile, Social Pace (10-11 mph on the flats) mostly flat, low traffic rural farm area, with one short bridge (with traffic and no shoulder) to climb at the start and end of the ride. There are some areas where the traffic can be busier, but will have a good shoulder.
NOTE: there is a gravel parking lot west of the bridge that folks can park if they would rather not go back and forth over the bridge at the start/end of the ride. If you do this, please let me know.
There is NO bathroom at the start, plan accordingly. (Shell station as you come into town). About mile 15 we will make a bathroom stop at the Skagit Wildlife Area trailhead (this is about 1/2 mile of gravel roadway to get there), or we might stop at the Snow Goose IF they are still open.
Bring water and snack. Be prepared with tools to fix flats, or a backup plan in case of mechanical or emergency. Riders please be aware of our club policies for e-bikes and joining our rides.
