This just popped up on my Threads feed from Seattle Bike Blog.

Alert: Section of East Lake Sammamish Trail will be closed May through the end of 2026 with no detour

Thanks for this post, Neil.  I saw this as well.  I get why they need to close this route, but it does limit cycling access to Redmond-Issaquah routes. Will there be any safe alternatives

Reading the blog, there seems no reasonable detours/go-arounds. If you look at the maps and know the area, the alternatives are steep climbs (and descents ... whee!) and perhaps some busy roads.

I'd been thinking of doing a ride around Lake Sammamish starting at Lynnwood Station and taking light rail to Redmond (alternate start at Marymoor). If I can, I'll post it before May. But April is a busy month for the Club. So, don't hold me to it!
