Meet 9:30 am Saturday May 31 at the Granite Fall School District parking lot on Alder Ave, no restrooms at start so plan accordingly. Directions: take Hwy 92 to GF, you will be on Stanley St continue to the 'T' turn left onto Alder Ave the SD will be on the right side. Bring along a lunch to eat at the Big Four Mountain picnic are. It's a short walk to the Ice Caves that may be viewed from a safe distance, Don't Enter them! Suggest buying a sandwich at the Granite Market, just North of Stanley on Granite Ave.
The Ride is an 'out and back' 61 miles round trip to the end of the paved road and the trailhead to Monte Cristo. It's 50 miles round trip if turning around at the Big 4 picnic area. No services other than the water and restrooms at the Verlot Ranger Station. Two leads Martha Hines (COGS) leads a moderate paced group and Bob N. a brisk paced group. Faster and slower riders may go at their own pace. No cue sheet - there aren't any turns! This is a scenic route on the Mountain Loop Hwy going thru hamlets of Robe and Silverton, follows the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River.
